Well-known filming spot - Mount Eiger
The Eiger is a 3,967-metre (13,015 ft) mountain which lies in the Bernese Alps, just north of the main watershed and border with Valais. On this storied mountain’s top, you will feel thin air on your face, and you will forget your stress. The one of the renowned iconic peaks, Eiger provide the leisure activities like rock climbing and training over 4000m.
Here many movies and most of the documentation were filmed. As the peak is striking from all side, it is not easy to climb. The most notable feature of the Eiger, one of the most famous mountaineering destinations is its 1,800-meter-high (5,900 ft.) north face, named “Eigerwand,” or “Nordwand,” which is the biggest north face in the Alps and that means death wall, for the numerous climbers. It is also considered as one of the best classic and challenging north face climbs in the Alps. First climbed the Eiger back in 1858. An Australian-German team reached the top for first time ever in 1938.
