Where Europe's highest summer ski area

Zermatt’s world-famous tourist town lies at the foot of the legendary Matterhorn-the 4478 m high mountain, often referred to internationally as “Toblerone Mountain”. Ski Area

The Zermatt winter sport region is divided into three sections which are linked by the Furi-Riffelberg shuttle service. This has 54 ski lifts and over 360 km of ski slopes. You will experience the longest slope in winter from Kleines Matterhorn (Small Matterhorn) to Zermatt with a range of 15 km and a gap in altitude of 2.279 m.

You can see the world’s largest and highest situated summer ski area in Zermatt, with 7 kilometers long slope (longest). On top of that, Zermatt offers you 36 kilometers of designated freeride slopes. You can find the slopesb‘ level of difficulty and the condition of each slope at the current time on the ski live map.

Family – friendly

You can depend on childcare all year round at the family destination of Zermatt – Matterhorn. The mascot accompanies families on the climate-themed trail; in winter children up to the age of 9 travel free of charge throughout the whole ski area.

You can skate on the ice rink, stop by the dairy or spend an exciting time in the climbing gym of your own wish. Crystal clear mountain lakes attract families to take a bathe while on another day the Forest Fun Park is promising a great time in the middle of nature.

Hiking Area

During the warm summer months in Zermatt Switzerland various hiking and climbing trails give spectacular views. The whole Zermatt hiking area has more than 400 km of hiking trails. All routes are regularly identified by the Swiss Hiking Routes association, as well as classified by their difficulty.
