Matterhorn Glacier Paradise - At the highest peak in Europe by cable car
Aerial view of the beautiful mountain is for you at the highest top of Europe: Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car. Â The new Matterhorn superlative cableway has been running all year round since November 2018. It delivers up to 2,000 travelers an hour to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn). The highest 3S cableway in the country links Trockener Steg to the Matterhorn glacier paradise station. It is exactly 3883 meters at the north. The cable-car travelers now can enjoy faster and more easily enter the highest mountain station in Europe from Zermatt.
Origin of the great cableway in Matterhorn
The first enthusiastic travelers were taken to the peak of the Matterhorn glacier heaven on 23 December 1979. Since then, the snowy landscape of Matterhorn ice heaven has been explored by several thousands of people. Over 425,000 passengers came in 2017. They were alone, mainly from Switzerland, Germany and Great Britain. A bunch of the tourists who visited Zermatt do not want to skip out on an excursion to Matterhorn glacier paradise, confirming that Matterhorn glacier paradise, along with Gornergrat, is an immensely common destination for travellers from around the world.
In November 2018 a modern and very exciting cableway was launched to do justice to the success of the high-alpine destination: The Matterhorn glacier trip. Zermatt Bergbahnen has been working intensively since 2016. It completes this innovative initiative. The way follows an exciting sequence of developments to improve its tourist attractions. That makes the paradise an even more attractive destination than before, not only for skiers and mountaineers but also for tourists who just love to enjoy the wonderful panorama view and nature from the highest peak in Europe accessible by cableway.
The expense of the building process, which adds up to about 60 million Swiss francs, shows exactly what a colossal undertaking this has been. The latest Matterhorn glacier trip, with a carrying ability of 2000 passengers per hour, complements the current cable car, which continues to bring 600 passengers per hour to the Matterhorn glacier paradise. The dual connection also ensures cableway services all year round. It works even during maintenance work and in windy conditions.
Comfort and Capacity of Cable CarÂ
3S stands for three cables and is a cableway network with wide cabins that blends the benefits of a single-cable, revolving ropeway with a gondola cable ride. Unlike traditional cableways which carry cabins on a single cable, the 3S network has separate cables for transport and support. There are 25 cabins, each with 28 seats, attached to the cables with connecting clips. The support cables offer you greater wind stability, passenger capacity and driving speed so, you do not worry about safety.
Leading edge technologyÂ
The interior includes 28 comfortable automotive style influenced seats and is completed with good quality fabrics including leather and Alcantara. The revolutionary LED lighting and ventilation system with dynamic air flow ensure optimum relaxation throughout the nine-minute ride so that guests can relax and admire the beautiful views from the panoramic windows all over. The two new stations are almost as sleek and crystalline as Matterhorn glacier travel cabins. Particularly they built the mountain station as a light glass structure and has an angular, crystalline form reminiscent of a block of rock, with sharp edges softened by the forces of nature, beautifully fitting with the mountain panorama.
