The world of adventures
You will feel like existing in paradise here, exactly adventurous paradise – the Matterhorn Glacier paradise. Europe’s highest cable car station (3,883 m) with its latest restaurant, establishes fresh benchmarks of sustainable development. The views of the tallest mountains in Italy, France and Switzerland are stunning. The ski area on the Glacier Theodul is accessible 365 days a year.
Matterhorn glacier is heaven-an adventure world. From here, mountaineers and climbers assisted by mountain guides head out to reach the Breithorn (4,164 m), a 2.5-hour trek up the annual snows; this is their first ascent to a 4,000-meter summit for many tourists.
The images from the observation deck on a few days are so simple they seem to reach as far as the Mediterranean. Throughout France, the tallest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc (4,810 m), rises over its neighbors; the top of the Gran Paradiso (4,061 m), Italy’s highest point, is also sometimes noticeable. The air up here is thin, so tourists can take a lot of time to explore. This is also the international ski region’s meeting, available 365 days a year, and the entrance to Europe’s biggest summer ski resort.
Visitors see a somewhat special view of the Matterhorn up here, right by the Italian frontier. It came as a surprise: the view from Gornergrat or Rothorn is very special, as though the Matterhorn has taken on a fresh appearance. This viewing point truly provides the best view of the south side of the range.
Summer training for national ski teams
Anyone pursuing the autograph of an international ski star at Matterhorn glacier heaven has the highest chances of success. Throughout summer, nearly all the national ski teams around the world train up on the glacier for the pace ranges, and all the participants have to travel through the summit station to reach the mountain pistes.

Matterhorn glacier ride
Since 2018, the world’s highest 3S cableway has transported visitors to the Matterhorn glacier paradise. In addition to the existing aerial tramway, the Matterhorn glacier ride, with gondolas created by the design studio Pininfarina, was developed and offers a more comfortable and luxurious trip. It also increases conveyance capacity by 2,000 guests an hour. The modern cable car’s highlight is its four “Crystal Ride” cabins, which are coated with Swarovski crystals. The four special cabins give a breathtaking vision throughout the nine-minute journey: after three minutes, the gloomy glass bottom disappears in a matter of seconds to provide a stunning glimpse of the glacier landscape.
