Lake Promanade Locarno
A beautiful panoramic itinerary along Lago Maggiore shores. You can enter the Camellia Park, not far from the Maggia River, taking the lakeside route from Minusio to Muralto and Locarno. It is a simple path, completely open, mainly for pedestrians and cyclists mostly on sidewalks and roads also provide large parking lots, which are conveniently accessible by public transport.
During the spring, lawns running along the Locarno Bay turn into a multitude of colours. Leaving the Locarno pier to the south, you’ll enter the Parco delle Camelie (Camellias Park) in about 15 minutes. If you’re going in the opposite direction from the pier, a pedestrian street along the lake will take you through Rivapiana to Tenero, where the old and well-preserved fishermen’s houses still remain.
Park of the Camellias is a true paradise for those love the aquatic world, inaugurated in 2005 and awarded the prize “Gardens of Excellence” by the International Camellia Society.
