The Red Cross Headquarter
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a humanitarian organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, and a three-time Nobel Prize Laureate. Emotion, discovery, reflection: The Museum offers you a unique opportunity to enter into the history of humanitarian action. ICRC headquarters in Geneva supports the delegations that carry out our humanitarian work from around 80 delegations worldwide.
In addition, headquarters manages funding appeals, human resources and global communications. Since the closure of our mission in Turkey, HQ has also been handling all matters related to that country. Three separate areas, each developed by a well-known exhibition architect, allow you to explore three major challenges in today’s world: Defending human dignity (Gringo Cardia, Brazil), Reconstructing the family link (Diébédo Francis Kéré, Burkina Faso) and Refusing fatality (Shigeru Ban, Japan). The museum opened in 1988 and underwent a significant renovation from 2011 to 2013.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum closely related to the name of Geneva, it is a unique place that highlights the universal concept of humanitarian action.
