Engelberg Ski Resort
The ski resort Engelberg, one of the top powder & freeride destinations is located in Engelberg-Titlis, Central Switzerland. Engelberg is a summer and winter holiday paradise at 1050 metres above sea level.
If you go skiing in Engelberg, you will find a variety of different slopes between Brunni and Jochpass. With 82 of ski runs for all difficulty levels, it is big enough to offer plenty of variety. It takes you half of the day to return to where you have started. Some 2,000 m in altitude and 12 km on foot separate the peak of the Titlis from the valley below.Â
Most of Engelberg’s pistes are above 1800 meters and best suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders, with some terrain lower down for beginners;Â however, Engelberg has deliberately left much of its terrain un-pisted, making the resort especially popular with powder skiers and snowboarders.
One of the best place for beginners is Yeti-Park Ristis in the Brunni ski area in Engelberg. The best area and everyone’s favorite is Titlis ski area in Engelberg. One of the longest slopes in the Alps leads from the Titlis to Engelberg. You can reach there by gondola from Engelberg town.
Skiing has a long tradition in Engelberg but, the technique has changed somewhat over the time. Engelberg is not a purpose built resort and there is limited accommodation located close to the pistes. Most of the resort’s hotels have shuttle buses and equipment can be stored at the lift stations. There are rail services from Zurich airport to the resort and Engelberg can be reached by rail from most parts of the country.
