Spiez - a picturesque hill town in Bern
Spiez is a beautiful town nestled between hills and vineyards and dominated by a magnificent castle on the shore of Lake Thun in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss canton of Bern. It is a hub of public transportation. As usual in Switzerland, it is recommended to travel by train or bus. You can travel by train in every half hour from here to Bern, Zurich, Basel, Geneva.Â

The Spiezer Rebberg adventure trail is a themed hike that revolves around the origins of Spiezer wine. On 12 boards you will be whisked away into the world of vines and good wine. Short films illustrate the work in the vineyard. You can access this with your smartphone via QR code. Another highlight of the circular route is the breathtaking view of Lake Thun, the castle and the Alps. Benches invite you to linger, picnic and enjoy the whole way. The hike takes 1 – 2 hours, depending on how much time you allow yourself for the individual thematic panels.
By the way: the Spiezer Rebberg adventure trail can also be  tackled with a mobile phone ! You will be guided from one location to the next and you can watch the short films about the vineyard.Â
Spiez Castle
- Become a knight in Spiez Castle
Children can celebrate their birthday in the castle or complete the knight’s trail. After a three-stage training in the castles of Spiez, Thun and Oberhofen, the children turn from page to squire. After passing the exams and the knight ride, the children are knighted.
- Romantic weddings
Immediately next to Spiez Castle is the 1000-year-old castle church in the early Romanesque style, which is particularly popular for weddings. Civil weddings are also possible in the romantic wedding hall in the castle.
- Castle park & ​​garden
The castle park with its colorful flowers is a feast for the eyes in every season. Stroll through the palace complex or enjoy the view over Lake Thun on a bench. The cafeteria is located on the ground floor, where you can treat yourself to a coffee, tea or a glass of Spiezer wine.

Spiezer Zügli
From April to October, the Spiezer Zügli takes you from Spiez train station on a circular route to the Spiez Bay from Sunday to Friday. The eventful trip with the popular blue train on wheels leads through the center along historical buildings to the ship landing stage.
