Interlaken: Town between Lakes

The town is also the main transport gateway to the mountains and lakes of that region. It is centrally located and easy to reach.

Interlaken has two rail stations. These stations offer frequent train, bus and boat services to all tourist attractions and destinations. It is the central town of a Small Agglomeration that has 23,300 inhabitants.

Monastery in the town was built on imperial land on the left side of the Aare around 1133. And also Interlaken’s success as a tourist destination was further enhanced by the completion of the Bernese Oberland Railway in 1890 and the Jungfraujoch Railway in 1912.

Interlaken is an ideal starting point for countless excursions for instance, there are over 45 mountain railways, cable cars, chair lifts and ski lifts lead to 200 kilometers of pistes and a dense network of hiking trails.

You want to enjoy your visit here, at same time, you can save traveling time. Interlaken, a lively town also has many mid-sized shops and a various selection of restaurants and reasonable price hotels. If you are traveling with teenagers that seek some fun, you’re probably better off in Interlaken than in a smaller mountain village with less facilities.
