Where the steepest cog railway is - Mount Pilatus
Pilatus, also known as Mount Pilatus, composed of several peaks lies overlooking Lucerne in Central Switzerland. The highest is named is named Tomlishorn (2,128.5 m (6,983 ft)). Lucerne’s very own mountain is the one the legendary place in the country. There are 73 Alpine peaks. You can enjoy the picturesque and panoramic view during clear day.
The steepest cog railway in the world begins its climb at Alpnachstad and tackles a maximum gradient of 48 per cent, passing through trees, meadows and rock faces. On the north side Kriens is connected to Pilatus Kulm by a gondola cableway and an aerial cableway.
Visitors are practically flying up to Pilatus with the new aerial cableway Dragon Ride. A cableway from Fräkmüntegg Intermediate Station (1416 meters above sea level) takes just 3.5 minutes to Pilatus (2073 meters above sea level). The cableway provides a spectacular view of Lucerne and the lake with its spacious seating, a cockpit-like structure and wide windows.
When you have reached the top, there are a plenty of activities for you to do! You can enjoy at the Swiss Alps from the viewpoint while doing the things. There are restaurants and bars too to taste the traditional lucerne’s food while feasting to eyes.
